Exposure to community violence among adolescents is not a recent phenomenon, the consequences have an impact on their development and performance. In Mexico there are few approaches on the issue despite its current relevance. This paper presents a qualitative approach using focus groups which allowed to know the characteristics of violence in the community to which students are exposed, as in the world literature found that older adolescents are more exposed. Although both men and women are considered equally exposed, men who reported more events and greater violence. Finally the analysis with Atlas.ti release is achieved conceptual organization allowing his later work.
