Abstract

SZAJDENFISZ, Bela Malvina. If we knew what a stingy man kept in his safe, we would know a lot about his desires. Stylus (Rio J.) [online]. 2014, n.29, pp. 137-142. ISSN 1676-157X.

This article presents a fragment of a clinical case of a young woman who, after many wanderings, returns to her origins, São Paulo, the city where her biological father resides. She goes in search of the truth that is hidden behind a family secret. Fixed as a constant by the fundamental fantasy, the desire is there, as an effect of language operation, the engine of the enunciation of the 'this speaks' of the unconscious, a knowledge far greater than what man believes he knows. Verônica wants to find the one who, in her fantasy, was pulled away from her life when she was a child. She keeps in a safe the object of her desire, an object which is mortified, out of circulation, ungraspable, a love that denounces that the alleged object is the rest, her cause, the basis of her dissatisfaction and perhaps of her impossibility.

Keywords : Truth, Desire; Knowledge; Impossibility.
