Abstract

MAYA, Beatriz Elena. Psychology of the masses: an analogic method?. Stylus (Rio J.) [online]. 2016, n.32, pp. 181-190. ISSN 1676-157X.

The present paper intends to show how Jacques Lacan equates the relationship between the singular and the collective that Freud reduces to the phrase "the individual psychology is simultaneously social psychology", through the notion of mass, questioned by the former to situate the textbook Psychology of the Masses and the Analysis of the Ego, as the theory of identification, which will allow him to initially develop the theory of the subject, and that of the parlêtre afterwards.

Keywords : Subject; Identification; Unary trait; Mass; Collectivity.
