Abstract

BITTENCOURT, Maria Vitoria. Psychoanalysis x Religion: what triumph?. Stylus (Rio J.) [online]. 2017, n.34, pp.111-116. ISSN 1676-157X.

The present article intends to bring up a matter of one of the crucial problems of Psychoanalysis in our present time: the presence of religion in our society. From Lacan's assertions in 1974, announcing the triumph of religion, and the elaborations in his text La troisième, this work seeks to examine the basis of Lacan's position, as well as the consequences to the psychoanalytic clinic. Its purpose is to discuss the relation between psychoanalysis and religion and the effects to the concept of symptom as real, trying to give a political answer to the psychoanalysis practice: to detain the "religious" sense that nourishes the symptom.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; religion; symptom; meaning; real.
