Abstract

CHNAIDERMAN, Beatriz Soares. Marguerite Duras, femme de lettres. Stylus (Rio J.) [online]. 2019, n.38, pp. 179-185. ISSN 1676-157X.

A study about the meaning of book writing for Marguerite Duras, from the publication of her first novel during the Second World War, through the period she called "the writing madness", to one of her last interviews about this topic. Avoiding being captured by the stories about her childhood, a tempting explanation for her need to write, we sketch a hypothesis, facing the clinical case of the artist. We hypothesize Marguerite Duras had in book writing a way to write herself off. The investigation leaves open the naming and how it relates with knowledge.

Keywords : Marguerite Duras; Literature; Artist; Identity.
