BORCK, Igor Sulaiman Said Felicio. Legislative agenda of the National Confederation of Industry in the period of the 54th and 55th federal legislature. Semin., Ciênc. Soc. Hum. [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.1, pp. 75-84. ISSN 1679-0383.

Understanding the dynamics of Brazilian democracy operates through the understanding of how a pressure group, the holder of national private industrial capital, is organized to influence decisionmaking in the federal legislative sphere, in order to favor its interests as a social group economically oriented and active, that is, organized. To accomplish this goal, we seek to guide our work based on some research questions: 1) How does the industrial business represented by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in the period from 2010 to 2017 assess its relationship with the legislature? 2) How does this evaluation reveal patterns of political action of Brazilian industrial entrepreneurs, represented by the CNI in the period studied? To answer these questions, we use the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) reports, called the Legislative Agenda for Industry 2010 to 2017, which are documents constructed from the RedIndústria Seminars of CNI. As a result, the research showed that a total of 158 legislative decisions were drafted by the National Congress, out of a total of 502 projects mapped on CNI’s legislative agenda, of which 96 correspond to the CNI, divided into 44 positive, 52 negative matches, versus 62 non-match cases. The research concluded that the data allow us to think of some patterns of political action of industrial entrepreneurship, such as the idea that perhaps the CNI’s effort to defend its interests before the National Congress is more effective in barring proposals contrary to their interests, as in cases of negative correspondence that outweighs positive cases.
