NAKAE, Marisa Fumiko. Nada será como antes: o discurso do sujeito coletivo hanseniano. Psic [online]. 2002, vol.3, n.2, pp. 54-73. ISSN 1676-7314.

Hansen disease, instead of being a very ancient disease, still represents a public health problem. Its history was made by segregation and prejudice that, under religious explanation, was a punishment for a sin. In 60'decade, trying not to stigmatize, some people fight to change the name lepra to Hansen disease. This present research motivated the construction of Collective Subject Speech (CSS) to reach patients-subjects socials representations of their illness and verify psychological contribution they will get. Seven patients that had been treated in an ambulatory way were interviewed and done data about their illness and lives. It was possible to estimate the categories that compounded eleven CSSs. After the speech analysis, it was verified how strong the stigma is, doing a collective illusory sum of science and faith. It was noted that, instead of patient technical information, something doesn't get with their way of living. He patient feels destitution because the non-answers of the body that is not his anymore. In the subjects speech there were an obvious and clear demand of need to someone to hear his psychological pain. So that, the presence of a psychologist in the multidisciplinary team is important because it open an outlet to this destitution, turning possible that the unknown came known when he will able to nominate this non-answers, permitting the patient reorganization and new positioning in the world and, with this, the construction of a new history.
