Abstract

The present work aimed to verify if the instruments the Human Picture Drawing and the Children’s Perception Test are sensitive to identify the sexual abuse. Confirming the possibility of those tests to distinguish the sexually abused group from the one that did not was investigated. 30 children, male and female, aged from 6 to 10 years, being one group of 15 children with historical of child abuse and other 15 children who did not. The Human Picture Drawing was applied and assessed according to Koppitz evaluation system and the Children’s Percepction Test according to Bellak instructions. The results confirmed that both instruments were valuable to identify sexual abuse and discriminated the sexual abused group from the other group, distinguishing situations of sexual abuse.
