LAMOUNIER, Rossana  and  RUEDA, Fabián Javier Marín. Psychological assessment in the transit: perspective of the drivers. Psic [online]. 2005, vol.6, n.1, pp. 35-42. ISSN 1676-7314.

The objective of this study was to verify if the candidates to the license to drive and drivers consider important the psychological evaluation, if such proceeding would help to identify risk factors in order to diminish the rate of accidents and, finally, if it is important that the psychological evaluation is carried through with greater periodicity. 783 subjects were questioned, 65.5% male, attending at six clinics of Minas Gerais; 401 will have psychological evaluation for the first time and 382 were renewing their license. The results pointed out high percentages of affirmative answers in the three studied questions. The analysis of multiple variances has showed significant differences in the questions referring to the importance of the psychological evaluation in the context of the transit and its periodicity, because the candidates to the license have presented a bigger average score. Besides, the women believe more than the men that this assessment helps to identify factors of risk in the transit. Interaction effect had not found among the studied variables.
