This research aimed to correlate depression symptomatology, anxiety and social support during the pregnancy. The participants were 44 pregnant patients in a small town health center (São Paulo-Brazil) and the data were collected by an identification questionnaire, Edinburgh Post-Partum Depression Scale (EPDS), Spielberger´s Trait-State Inventory (IDATE) and Social Support Depression Inventory (EPSS). The results shown that 29,5% had clinical symptomatology of depression; 70,5% have controlled anxiety state and 56,8% reported good social support. The main results showed positive correlation between depression and state and trait anxiety, negative correlation between depression and social support and negative correlation between social support and anxiety trait-state. The data point out the importance of social support in a pregnancy period.
