Abstract

ESPINDULA, Daniel Henrique Pereira et al. Dangerous and violent: representations of juvenile law offenders on newspapers. Psic [online]. 2006, vol.7, n.2, pp. 11-20. ISSN 1676-7314.

This work aimed to verify the representations of juvenile law offenders in the press written in the Espirito Santo, Brazil. At all, 325 published substances had been found. Software Alceste had used to analyze these data. The program pointed an organization of the ideas grouped in five categories, divided around two axes, "adolescent and delictual practical" and "socioeducational system". In the first axle, the practical make reference to the murders and kidnappings involvement, category 1; involvement with the traffic of drugs, category 4; context of the delict, category 5. The axle of the category 2 refes to ideas of the "ECA" and the reduction of the criminal majority, and the category 3 argues the problematic of the responsible institutions for the socioeducational measures. Despite of the Statute of the Child and the Adolescent having completed 15 years, it is observed that the representation of these adolescents is anchored in the old Code of Minors, pointing out greater quarrels around the subject.
