Abstract

This study was proposed to analyze evidences of validity of construct and criterion for the Escala de Traços de Agressividade para Crianças e Jovens by means of the Escala de Personalidade for Crianças. 331 children participated, aged from 8 to 10 years old (average=8.84; DP=0.71), being 159 (48%) males and 172 (52%) females and attending at a elementary school from second to fifth grades. The aggressiveness scale supplied scores to school, familiar and general aggressiveness and the personality scale informed of neuroticism, psychoticism, extraversion and sociability. Significant correlations in relation the psychoticism, neuroticism, sociability and the measure of familiar aggressiveness were found, as well as psychoticism and school aggressiveness; psychoticism, sociability and general aggressiveness. The measures of school aggressiveness discriminated the extreme groups of psychoticism and sociability, and the measures of general and familiar aggressiveness discriminated the extreme groups of psychoticism, neuroticism and sociability.
