In this paper the author will be reflecting on the contemporary body from both the clinical and aesthetic points of view. Links will be explored between the artistic productions of contemporary artists and the vicissitudes of the body in clinical practice. Symptom or creation? The author concludes that the dehumanisation of the body may be said to be a paradoxical and subversive way of revealing that which is irreducible in the human. In this sense, the post-human body, just like the extreme body, is a too human body.
