This study is based on a German model of taxonomy and it refers to personality descriptors adjectives of the Portuguese language, based on the lexicon. The goals are to identify the personality descriptors and compare the evaluations made by the judges. Six university professors, six members of the São Paulo Academy of Psychology and the first author were the judges. The results were analyzed attributing a valuation to the criteria and those that had an average identical or greater than three have been selected. Of a total of 5641 adjectives, 938 (16.63%) achieved the required average. Agreement between the judges was high. Considering that the organization of the description of adjectives of the personality results in a database that will be functional for the improvement of techniques and instruments for psychological assessment and as a tool for personality studies in Brazil, further studies are suggested in continuity of this work.
