The objective of this paper is the validation of the Rey´s Figures Complex- Form A for the Brazilian population. This instrument has the objective to evaluate the visual perception and immediate memory. It was administered to 501 males and females, between 5 and 65 years of age. Cronbach's Alpha was used to evaluate the internal consistency which was .86 for copy and .81 for memory. Reliability was also assessed by test-retest and a Pearson's coefficient of .76 was obtained. There was inter-judges agreement in all items. Convergent validity was assessed by correlating Arithmetic and Digits (WISC III) with the the Rey's Figures Complex scores. The conclusion was that the Rey's Figures Complex, assessment of visual perception and immediate memory was adequate.
