The aim of the present study was the validation of Schwartz's Portraits Questionnaire (PQ) for Brazil. Data were collected from 4,000 users of cellular phones. The results showed a factorial structure with four first order factors e two second order factors. These results are in agreement with Schwartz's theory of values. Also, it was shown that the instrument can be used in complex situation of data collection, as well as the independence of the structure of values in Schwartz theory.
