The present study has had as its objective to analyze the psychometric parameters of the Escala de Satisfação com a Experiência Acadêmica (ESEA). [Scale of Satisfaction with Academic Experience]. The initial items were based on literature on the theme; an initial version of the instrument being applied both on a pilot study with higher education students in order to verify their linguistic adequacy and to the analysis of content by specialists]. After that, the final version of the instrument was applied on a sample of 351 students of a private higher education institution in a Sao Paulo State inland town. Consisting of 35 items, the scale obtained, presents results of satisfactory validity and fidelity. Through an exploratory factorial analysis, three dimensions were found, i.e., satisfaction with the course, with opportunity and development and satisfaction with the institution, explaining 47,7% of the total variance of the scale. The data of this study can be useful to institutions of direct actions with the student and on the validation of institutional efficacy in educational contexts.
