Resumen

NUNES, Carlos Henrique Sancineto S.; NUNES, Maiana Farias Oliveira  y  HUTZ, Claudio S.. The joint usage of personality scales and interview to identify antisocial disorder symptoms. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.2, pp. 171-178. ISSN 1677-0471.

The present study compared two assessment methods for identifying symptoms of anti-social personality disorder (a semi-structured interview and two objective Big-5 Personality scales - Agreeableness and Extroversion). The participants were college students (n=35) and clients of a drug recovery center. The results showed significant differences between the clinical and non-clinical groups only in the subscales of the Agreeableness factor. Two logistic regressions were conducted to verify the predictive power of two models: one using only the Agreeableness scale and the other using the scale and the interview. The results showed that the second model was more powerful than the first one. In this model, sensitivity was 87,8% and specificity, 90,9%. These results point to the advantage of using both interview and objective techniques to assess individuals with anti-social personality symptoms.
