CAPOVILLA, Fernando C.  y  PRUDENCIO, Érica R.. Picture auditory vocabulary test: preliminary standardization and validation. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.2, pp. 189-203. ISSN 1677-0471.

In the auditory vocabulary test TVF-Usp1, at each of 139 words spoken by the examiner the examinee chooses the corresponding picture out of four. For preliminary standardization and validation, 808 elementary school students (1st-4th grades, 6-13 years of age) responded collectively to TVF-Usp1 and other five tests: Word Reading (TCLPP1), Sentence Reading (TCLS1), Phonological Awareness (PCFF1), Portuguese-Saresp (Saresp), and Writing to Dictation (Pesd). TVF-Usp1 scores increased significantly at each grade (1st. to 4th) and age (6 to 10). Standardization established five score ranges (very low, low, average, high, very high, respectively) for 1st. grade: 60-72, 73-85, 86-11, 112-124, 125-137 points; 2nd.: 80-89, 90-99, 100-119, 120-129, 130-139; 3rd.: 93-100, 101-108, 109-124, 125-132, 133-139; 4th.: 94-102, 103-111, 112-130, 131-138, 139. TVF-Usp1 correlated decreasingly with TCLPP1, TCLS1, PCFF1, and Pesd. Thus, auditory vocabulary contributed more to word reading than to sentence reading to phonological awareness to dictation. Item analysis permitted reordering difficulty level.

Palabras clave : Vocabulary; Reading; School performance; Phonological awareness; Dictation.
