SILVA, Maria de Fátima Xavier da  e  DE VILLEMOR-AMARAL, Anna Elisa. Self-esteem in CAT-A and HTP: study of evidence of validity. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.2, pp. 205-215. ISSN 1677-0471.

The necessity of revision of psychological instruments and the intention of contributing to their improvement are in the origin of this research which has the aim of making an evidence study of validity between the categories of self-esteem pointers of the projective techniques Children's Apperception Test (CAT-A) and The House-Tree-Person Technique (H.T.P) correlating then with the instrument Multidimensional Self-Esteem Scale (EMAE-A). In addition, it has also tried to make an accuracy study between the evaluators with the purpose of giving a greater reliability to the results obtained in the CAT-A. The sample was composed by 32 children, between the ages of 7 and 10, of both sexes and attending a public elementary school of the countryside of the State of São Paulo. The data demonstrate that the categories of pointers used to verify the self-esteem level, in the CAT - A, presented good accuracy by the evaluators system. In a similar way, the indices correlations between instruments allowed the finding of evidence validity for the CAT-A and the HTP.
