Abstract

VIEIRA, Diana; MAIA, José  and  COIMBRA, Joaquim Luís. School-towork transition: Confirmatory factorial analysis of transition-to-work self-efficacy scale TWSE). Aval. psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.6, n.1, pp. 03-12. ISSN 1677-0471.

A social-cognitive view of school-to-work transition or, more specifically, the analysis of the self-efficacy role in this career transition calls for the use of specific measuring tools suited to this domain. Based on the results of a previous exploratory factor analysis study carried out within last year university students, the aim of this study is to assess the psychometric characteristics of this scale using confirmatory factor analysis. This scale evaluates the level of confidence of the university students as they face the tasks and challenges that characterise this transition process. Two hundred and forty two last year university students participated in this study and the results presented satisfactory fit indexes.

Keywords : Self-efficacy; Higher education; School-to-work transition.
