Abstract

PADILHA, Sandra; NORONHA, Ana Paula Porto  and  FAGAN, Clarissa Zanchet. Instruments for psychological assessment: use and referee by psychologists. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.6, n.1, pp. 69-76. ISSN 1677-0471.

The use of psychological assessment tests is a practice that is often necessary, whether for clinical, selection or research purposes. Within this perspective, this study sought to investigate the use of psychological assessment tools by psychologists operating in a town in the interior of Santa Catarina. It lists the most frequently-used tests and establishes links between the tools used for psychological assessment and the list of tests approved by the CFP (Federal Psychology Council). 85 psychologists took part in this study, registered in the CRP (Regional Psychology Council)/12th region. The tool used for the data collection was a questionnaire. This was applied in a collective form, in a room granted by the headquarters of the Associação dos Psicólogos. The results show that the majority of the professionals who responded to the questionnaire do not use psychological assessment tools in their professional practice. It was observed that personality assessment tests are the most frequent tool used, and that many were used, though without the status of "in condition of use".
