The objective of this study was to verify the adjustment of the Teste Pictórico de Memória to the Rasch model, as well to detect the presence of DIF in function of gender. Participated of the research 594 college students of both sex with ages between 18 and 56 years old. The Teste Pictórico de Memória was applied in an collective form. When analyzed the instrument had the objective to verify its adjustment to the Rasch model, was observed that items had been answered in accordance with the waited standard, presenting a good adjustment. About the outfit, it also suggested a good adequacy to the Rasch model. The aspects related to the DIF, had show that between 55 items studied only five had indicated differences of gender, whereas three had favored the men and two had favored women. Based on this information, the study concluded that was a certain balance in the bias occurred for the men and women. Keywords: memory, differential item functioning, validity.
