The present study investigated the scientific production of the journal Avaliação Psicológica, between the years of 2002 and 2007. 12 issues were considered, in which 100 articles were analyzed based in the following criteria: amount of articles published per year, type of research, region of origin, nature of authorship, authors' gender, type of work and material used in researches and references employed. The data evidenced an increase of publications in the last two years, being 2007 the year with greater number of articles. The research report was the most used form and the southeast region had published more in that period. There was still the predominance of multiple and feminine authorship and researches that employed tests or scales. The references were mostly based on articles, as expected.
