CHIODI, Marcelo Gulini  y  WECHSLER, Solange Muglia. The Intelligence Scale WISC-III and Battery of Cognitive Abilities Test Woodcock-Johnson-III: comparing instrument´s. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2009, vol.8, n.3, pp. 313-324. ISSN 1677-0471.

The objective of this article is to verify the convergent validity of the WJ III, comparing it with the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC III). The sample consisted of 30 students, 15 male and 15 female, between the ages of 13 and 15 who attend public elementary and high schools. The results obtained on the tests were analyzed according to the Pearson Correlation and Variance Analysis between sex and age for each instrument. A significant correlation of 0.86 was found between the total scores on the WJ III and total scores on the WISC III. A significant correlation of 0.76 was also found between the WJ III and the WISC III execution scale and of 0.84 within the verbal scale. Significant differences were found for the age, gender & age variable on the WISC III; on the WJ III there were differences in sex & age only for the Vocabulary Subtest. These data indicate that the WJ-III has convergent validity with the WISC III and may enhance even further the possibilities of instruments for intellectual measurement.
