The objective of this study was to develop and validate a detailed instrument of personal profile at the workplace that could evaluate more specifically the behaviors of individuals in their work environment. The instrument was built based on the literature and on the content of 34 interviews with workers from different organizations. Its first version was composed of 128 items and it was applied to 805 workers of public and private organizations, in which 48.5% were men and 47.7% were women, with average age of 35.6 years. The factor analysis detected 8 factors and a total of 59 items. The other items were excluded from the instrument due to their content or factor loading. Those factors explain 36.3% of the construct variance; they have a Cronbach´s coefficient superior to .63 and items with a factor loading above .30. It is concluded that the factors present good psychometric qualities and can be related to other individual characteristics found in the literature.
