Given the importance of the Big Five model for personality assessment, this study aimed to survey research done in Brazil about this model in the databases Scielo and PEPSIC and the four editions of the Brazilian Congress of Psychological Assessment. The researches show a steady increase in the number of publications on the subject, with a concentration of researches developed in the south and southeast, mainly represented by researchers from UFRGS and USF. Most studies show dual authorship, having been developed with samples of youngsters and adults, making use mainly of EFN, EFEx and EFS as instruments.
