Abstract

The Emotional Intelligence construct contributes in scientific studies about interpersonal relationships in organizations, since allows the investigation about human emotions on work field. The present study investigates Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Quality of Life (QL) in a group of Brazilian executives in leadership positions. The sample is composed by 30 subjects. The instruments used are: Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT); WHOQOL- Brief (World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire - Brief version); and a complementary check-list for control variables. Results indicate a strong correlation between the executives emotional perception (measured by the Bias variable) and their Quality of Life (r = 0,60 / p = 0,01).
