Abstract

BASTOS-FORMIGHIERI, Mariana de Siqueira  and  PASIAN, Sonia Regina. The Pfister Test in the elderly. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.11, n.3, pp. 435-448. ISSN 1677-0471.

Given the global trend of increased human longevity and the large number of elderly, arises the necessity of care specifically aimed at this group of individuals, in many different aspects and sociocultural contexts. Among the technical resources available in Psychology are the psychological assessment instruments, with the potential to contribute to the achievement of relevant information on psychological characteristics and experiences of individuals, including elderly, although poorly studied in Brazil. In this context, this study aimed to establish normative standards of the Color Pyramid Test of Pfister for elderly. We sought to characterize features of the affective functioning of old age from this projective method, arguments and empirical evidence to improve processes for psychological assessment with the elderly in contemporary Brazilian sociocultural context. These new standards were compared to normative standards in Brazil are available to adults in this projective method, exploring the question of the specificity of affective experiences during aging.
