The paper presents three studies about drawings of Brazilian Indians. The first study aimed to identify cultural aspects in the development of children’s drawing and discuss similarities and differences between indigenous and non-Indian drawings. The groups studied were Guarani / Kaiowá, Terena, Kadiwéu of Mato Grosso do Sul. The second study reports an experience in listening and analyzing psychological aspects of drawings in workshops with Guarani children of Parelheiros. The third study aimed to know the perception in children Mbya about family psychodynamics from the psychoanalytic approach, using drawings and stories of family. The three researches indicate significant differences among the Guarani of Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo, as well as among other ethnic groups, such as Terena and Kadiwéu, even inhabit the same region. The differences of contact and influence with non-Indian society are discussed like a determinant factor.
