Abstract

RUEDA, Fabián Javier Marín et al. Development and Validation of a Quality of Life at Work Scale. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.12, n.1, pp. 43-50. ISSN 1677-0471.

The aim of the study was to develop a scale to assess the Quality of Working Life. In this sense validity study was conducted based on the analysis of the internal structure, as well as internal consistency analysis. 248 employees participated, aged 18-63 year-old (M\ SD), with 80.2% female. In analyzing the results, after checking the factorability of the test, it was used exploratory factor analysis which indicated the existence of four factors, explaining 48.70% of the variance, namely, 'QWL related to integration, respect and autonomy', QWL related to fair and adequate compensation', 'QWL possibilities for leisure and social interaction' and 'QWL related to encouragement and support.' The analysis of internal consistency showed alpha coefficients considered very well. It is suggested that further studies on validity must be made, especially with criterion variables, to provide more evidence about the suitability of the instrument.

Keywords : quality at work life; industrial psychology; measurements; psychometrics; psychological assessment.
