MONTIEL, José Maria; AFFONSO, Suselei Aparecida Bedin; RODRIGUES, Stelio João  and  QUINELATO, Eliane. Student perception scale of distance learning: Validity study. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2014, vol.13, n.3, pp. 359-369. ISSN 1677-0471.

This study aimed to analyze the internal structure of the Student Perception Scale of Distance Learning. The instrument was developed based on the students’ perception of the undergraduate distance education model. The test was applied to 202 students in various modalities of higher education in virtual-assessment distance learning courses. The final scale demonstrated four factors that explained roughly 40% of variance and measured students’ satisfaction with various aspects of the courses, such as the strategies students employed to learning within this context. A second order factor analysis yielded a polarized perception factor, positive and negative perceptions of Distance Learning. It was concluded that this instrument provided useful information in that it characterized not only students’ satisfaction with courses, but also regarding their participation in the learning process.

Keywords : psychometry; educational assessment; validity evidence; distance learning.
