Abstract

SUSANA LOPEZ, Soledad; DANIEL LEDESMA, Rubén; ANDREA MONTES, Silvana  and  ISABEL INTROZZI, María. A time-to-contact and collision estimation task: preliminary evidences of reliability and validity. This study analyzes some psychometric properties of a task in moving object trajectory estimation. This type of task is often used as part of driver evaluation exams in many countries, but available validity evidence is scarce. Sixty participants (split evenly between professional drivers and general population) completed the test on two occasions. The results were positive in some respects (e.g., internal consistency), but also show the need for changes and improvements in the test. Further studies are needed that offer external evidence that gives validity to this type of task.
