Brazilian Jeitinho has been conceptualized as an intelligent behavior developed for the resolution of everyday problems. Efforts to understand this phenomenon have highlighted the difficulty of its measurement. This study aimed to develop a measure that evaluates and maps the behaviors related to this construct: the Brazilian Jeitinho Behavior Inventory (BJBI). Two studies were developed to operationalize and construct the instrument's items (study 1) and to assess evidence of factor validity and internal consistency in a study with 203 participants (study 2). The instrument presented factor validity and internal consistency, consisting of 30 items subdivided into 2 factors: Illegal and antisocial advantages (factor 1) and Efficiency through informality (factor 2). This study provides a complementary empirical tool with a specific perspective for Brazilian Jeitinho behavior.

Keywords : brazilian jeitinho; transcultural psychology; Brazilian culture; validity; psychometrics.
