The scarcity of literature referring to paternity in adolescence justifies the development of research into that phenomenon. As happens in the adult world, pregnancy in adolescence can be apprehended in many ways and various senses can be attributed to it, as it is desired or not, planned or not. Investigators are not supposed to condemn nor to praise it. This paper starts from the assumption that paternity in adolescence is understood according to socially constructed meanings shared along the history of each social group, as well as to the active movement of the individuals who attribute meanings to them. Concepts of Historical-Cultural Psychology theory, in that context, can contribute tothe production of research into the process of the adolescent’s constitution in face of paternity in adolescence.
