Abstract

BESSET, Vera Lopes; COHEN, Ruth Helena de Pinto; COUTINHO, Luciana Gageiro  and  RUBIM, Luiza Mendes. Psychoanalysis in culture: new intervention ways. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2007, vol.13, n.1, pp. 27-40. ISSN 1677-1168.

This article results from the experience some psychoanalysts had in the context of an intervention-research work carried out in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in collaboration with the State Government of Rio de Janeiro. It consisted of the creation of ‘reflection-groups’ involving young people from different communities, coordinated by students of Psychology and supervised by their professors in charge of the project. The text reflects on transference in the present context of new ways of psychoanalytical intervention in the city. It discusses the analyst’s presence, as well as that of psychoanalysis, not only outside a doctor’s office, but also outside the analytical treatment setting. It underlines the importance of transference bonds established between the project’s coordinators and the community leaders - local power representatives - when love transference occurred between young university students and young people in the community.

Keywords : Research-intervention; Transference; Youth; Psychoanalysis.
