Abstract

TEIXEIRA, Antônio M. R.. The object of psychoanalysis in the impasse of assessment practices. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2008, vol.14, n.1, pp. 37-46. ISSN 1677-1168.

The object of psychoanalysis in the impasse of assessment practices: the author examines the contemporary expansion of assessment practices, focusing especially on the political program to which they respond, considering the subject from a classification defined by a quantitative measurement of his instrumental value. In criticizing this instrumental reification of the subject by the assessment ideology, as well as the process of collective homogenization required by assessment practices to set their goal, the article exposes how the psychoanalytical experience reveals an un-assessable object in the subject’s relation with pleasure, in the sense of something that cannot be instrumentally used nor accepts comparison measures or equivalence criteria.

Keywords : Evaluation practices; Equivalence criteria; Subjective singularity.
