Abstract

BRITO, Daniela Cristina Sampaio de. Professional orientation as a rehabilitation instrument for patients with chronic illnesses and acquired deficiencies. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2009, vol.15, n.1, pp. 106-119. ISSN 1677-1168.

Professional orientation can be used as an important rehabilitation resource in patients with certain diagnoses, mainly with chronic illnesses, given the strong impacts of those conditions on the individual’s life. Such impacts can be enhanced according to the kind of treatment proposed or acquired deficiency. Two clinical cases are presented, showing different perspectives in which the process of professional orientation can contribute to improve life quality for this group of individuals.

Keywords : professional orientation; health and illness; rehabilitation; life quality.
