Abstract

TITTONI, Jaqueline; ANDREAZZA, Jaqueline Perozzo  and  SPOHR, Fúlvia da Silva. Work in the context of flexible accumulation and subjectivity production. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2009, vol.15, n.2, pp. 166-183. ISSN 1677-1168.

This is an analysis of subjectivity and work in the context of flexible accumulation. Flexibility is one of its main characteristics, precariousness is one of its most marking effects, and unemployment is one of its important manifestations. This exploratory study focuses on the creations of subjectivity, of ways of working and organizing Human Resources managers’ life in the metal-mechanic industry from a developed pole in the Northeast of Rio Grande do Sul State. The main theoretical references are related to the discussion of subjectivity and work, as well as to Foucault’s formulations concerning modes of subjectivation and ethics. The analysis of produced information indicated that subject and work are really closely connected, so that it is work that defines, guides and organizes the workers’ lives, because they extend the notion of flexibility to their ways of living.

Keywords : work flexibilization; precariousness; human resources; subjectivity.
