This research, conducted in the Emergency Room of the Hospital de Clinicas, Federal University of Minas Gerais, in collaboration with the University of Buenos Aires, through the Scientific Research Projects or Technological Innovation (UBACYT), assumes that it is necessary to know the particularity of the times we live, and its relationship to current clinical presentations. To do so, draw a profile of the population that consults the service will provide emergency devices according to the needs of our time, which in turn will focus on the effectiveness of care and treatment of urgency. The conceptual framework in which our practice is situated is psychoanalysis, so it is necessary conceptualize the urgency from this theoretical perspective. The objective of this research is to investigate the issue of urgency in the clinic and the population that resorts to emergency services with mental disorders that allow us to develop strategies and effective treatment today
