Abstract

This paper describes research on the meanings that employees attach to a system of performance evaluation through skills. The main objective was to understand the influence of this system in respect to pleasure or suffering that employees have with work. Their accomplishment inspired by the ‘Psychodynamics of Work' invited employees to analyze the evaluation system which they are submitted. The Performance Evaluation through skills was analyzed as part of the work because it subsidizes other practices of recognition and development, influencing the performance and mobilizing inter-subjective relations. The intervention allowed the group of professionals to reflect critically on the model performance evaluation by competencies proposed by the organization. The results indicate the recognition of evaluation as practical important that can be shown as guiding professional development. The critics are on the association between the evaluation process and remuneration, generating fatiuge for both evaluators and subjects evaluated
