Resumen

DRAWIN, Carlos Roberto. Subjectivity and the critical theory of society. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2013, vol.19, n.2, pp. 155-176. ISSN 1677-1168.  http://dx.doi.org/DOI-10.5752/P.1678-9563.2013v19n2p155.

The main idea to be defined as the axis of this article can be abstractedly defined as follows: the category of subjectivity as something indispensable to the construction of a critical theory of society. In order to make this idea more concrete, we need to discuss the components of this concept: "subjectivity" and "critical theory", as well as their relation to one another. The category of subjectivity concerns the fundamental predicates which defines Man's essence in contraposition to other beings of the world, whether they are natural - such as the animals - or unnatural - such as artificial objects. Therefore, the category of subjectivity is an index of the irreducibility of human condition and, as such, is a frontal opposition to the epistemological programs of naturalization of the human condition as well as to the political projects which aim to manipulate it as an artificial object.

Palabras clave : Subjectivity; Ethics; Recognition; Critical theory.
