In order to understand the impact of public policy on reintegration of prison’s egress system in the state of Minas Gerais in practical life of these people, we conducted an empirical study to which we have adopted as theoretical framework the Ergology, which encompasses the concepts of "prescribed" (a set of rules and standards) and "real" (what actually operates). We used methods such as semi-structured interviews with employees of public policy, prison’s egress systems assisted and management team; participation in groups that occurred in the program and in individual assistance; observation of routine work and official publications. We noted that despite the notion of support for prison’s egress system in the rescue of citizenship, in the field of real what operates is an adaptation of the egress to the new social life, and not an exercise of citizenship
