This article discusses the use of "social" and "cultural" concepts, attached to This article discusses the use of 'social' and 'cultural' concepts, attached to Psychology, as central theoretical categories to think about implications which arise from the various meanings that they can have on psychological practices. We bring questions that concern the relation on those concepts on the Historical-cultural theory, once divergent conceptions have reverberated historically on the fabric on psychological praxis. This is a bibliographical study, in which we deal with the meaning that contemporary authors have attributed to the 'social' and 'cultural' categories and we weave relations between those categories and the theoretical and methodological construction purposed by Vygotsky. We have observed that the link between such categories is mainly due to the comprehension of the historical dimension, once the history that emerges, on the social, the construction of culture. This study is relevant for citing useful elements to the discussion and to a more consistent comprehension of the terms "social" and "cultural" and of the praxis associated to those
