The referral of students to clinical or health assistance units due to school complaints reflects a lack of understanding in school professionals' assessment, who attribute the cause of these complaints to the students or their families. Thus, it was considered relevant to investigate school complaints referrals to two Psychology school clinics. Therefore, 3,138 screening report were analyzed and it turned out that school complaints were the fourth highest number of demands most referred to the school clinics, frequently carried out by family members or educational agents, including the school psychologist. It is questioned the fact that these complaints are referred to the school clinics whenever they should be among the school psychologist's actions. It is suggested that referral modalities be restructured as well as the assistance to school complaints, in addition to the remodeling of screening forms, expecting to revert actions that come to strengthen the clinical and adaptative paradigm
