The concept of social vulnerability has been used in studies approaching several different fields of knowledge, including Psychology, assuming a variety of senses. This study aims to investigate the concept of social vulnerability used in psychology-related publications in Brazil. In order to do that, a systematic review of the national literature on the subject was performed, resulting in 21 articles which were published from 2005 to 2013. The results suggest that social vulnerability has been the subject of recent researches and it has become an increasing interest in national scientific production in Psychology. The results also allowed the conclusion that there are different definitions of the concept of social vulnerability, whereas a single definition was not found. Nonetheless, this matter has been present in several studies in recent years, which shows its relevance and importance in the scientific and social contexts.
