The author proposes a reflection about the group work is institutions that treat mental diseases, doing it from his own experience. He relates the resistance and the irresponsibility which the area professionals execute the group therapy activity. He analyzes economic, politic, cultural and personal aspects involved in this question. He observes the technicians' relationship each other as a work team and the way they deny the group process. The technique formation and the idealized expectation in connection to professional activity are analyzed as some important factors on behavior determination. But close feelings as the rejection fear and the omnipotence feeling are also appointed as fundamental. The author concludes that in less protect situations, (like the group and/or institutional ones), a professional is more exposed to these generator elements of conflicts, bringing about an identity crisis.
