Group analytical psychotherapy has a remote origin and its practice has been rooted in a context related to the development period of the most known theory. The validity of a practice, which is not in the new living world of therapists and patients, is questioned. Adaptations go through theory, which always tries to adapt to reality, as well as through the need to have their fomenting societies in tune with a modern way of being inserted in the market of technical schools. There are examples of some atavic practices, which disagree with the present ethic of medicine and with the Brazilian consumer protection code.
