Abstract

PAGES, Catalina  and  LIMA, Tereza Maria Salles da Costa. Oficina de criatividade: o mundo além das palavras. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2001, vol.2, n.2, pp. 111-119. ISSN 1677-2970.

Just as the group is more than the sum of its parts, words express more than words, hence the name of our workshop: “the world beyond words.” In this essay we show how, upon reading a poem many times, words become sounds, rhythms and melodies. What seemed nonsense at the beginning gains the power of prayer, the power of mantra. Repetition thus breeds differences. Reading a poem together, man and woman become part of the poem in an aesthetic moment, leading one to discover the other. The metaphor of the angel appears within the group, transcending masculine and feminine character, enabling a work of art to emerge. We return to primeval times, cosmic moments, within the self, when beginning and end touch each other, creating infinite reverberations.
