The violence, which indicators are very high, brings many consequences, physics and psychologicals, to their victims. It’s necessary a careful attention to this problem and population. Because of this necessity, GEAVIDAS (Study Group and Attention to Domestic Violence and Sexual Aggression) had been created in the city of Ribeirão Preto. A protocol had been developed and the victim receives medical, legal, psychological and social attention in the emergency hospital. However, due to the necessity of a continued psychological attendance, an accord with the FFCLRP-USP was created in 2001.Through this accord, the victims are attended by the 4th and 5th years trainees of Psychology. Nevertheless, it has been observed that the individual attendance couldn’t care for all the victims, who had to wait and started to abandon the treatment. After that, GEAVIDAS had chosen to create “wait groups” for mothers and adolescents (who is waiting for an individual attendance), where they can talk about their anguish, experiences and feelings, making use of the advantages that a group setting offers.
